Don't miss out on this most original story!!

5 stars Jayde Scott rated it
Shelves: great-description, paranormal, touching, well-written
This must be the most inventive story I've read in a long time. I absolutely loved Mira because she's confident and feisty but with a feminine and alluring side to her. I thought the paranormal elements were fantastic and so very different to anything that's flooding the paranormal fiction market. The mystery of the medallion kept me at the edge of my seat. Can't wait to find out more about Mira's past lives and her connections to the men who've mysteriously entered her life.

Paranormal Doorway to the Triquetra

Lenore Wolfe's writing is flawless and she sure knows how to keep up the suspense and build drama. That's rare to find in an author. The characters were mysterious and thrilling. I kept turning one page after another until I read the whole book in one setting. Can't wait for the next book in the series to find out what happens next. Thoroughly recommended read. Don't miss out on this most original story.

Paranormal Doorway of the Triquetra

Ebook By Lenore Wolfe
Published By Triquetra Press Publications

Mira has received an ancient medallion, and she can’t get rid of it. Everywhere she goes now, a jaguar follows. The ancient mysteries of the medallion lead her to the Gargoyle’s Castle. She must find the paranormal doorway of the Triquetra, to save her best friend’s soul, but each move she makes only leads her to a deeper mystery, where all of her past lives are bound to four immortal men.

Extended Description

This book is an excerpt. Book to be released June 12, 2011.

On the misty streets of Saint Louis, late at one night, Mira spots something she could not possibly be seeing on these city streets, unless the zoo has lost a large black cat, a jaguar to be exact. When she peeks to see if the cat has come after her, an old woman stands before her, long, black hair, threaded with black fur, and shot through with silver, falls down the old woman’s back. She cannot get a sense of her age. Mira senses the jaguar she’d spotted, only moments before, in the movements of this old woman before her. One moment she appears very old, the next, strong and supple. Her eyes have a strange mixture of yellow-gold, and dark gray. She hands Mira a large, silver disk. Mira looks down at the ancient disk, to find she is holding some kind of medallion, engraved with Hebrew lettering, and when she looks up, the old woman is gone.

The answers to the medallion lead her on a journey to find the Doorway of the Triquerta and revelations of her kin, the Jaguar people. Before the doorway stands an old dragon. He is the keeper of the doorway. Once the doorway is open, she can see across the veil. There is no turning back. There is no shutting the door, once it is open. Mira must find a way to go through the doorway. She is kin to the Jaguar People. She is to write a book. Each book holds one key to those who can perceive the key. The book she is to write will hold the next key. But there are those who do not want this book written—and will do anything to stop her. And she must learn to deal with the lower-level entities before she can begin he journey.

The old woman’s words lead Mira to Denver, Colorado where she finds herself at a huge, gothic mansion and meets a handsome man, by the name of Micah, who shows her how the paths she has taken, in her past lives, have led her to this place, now, in her current life. She must learn to integrate her past lives to succeed in her mission. Mira also meets a man in silver and white, named Lucius, and two other men, named Roman and Caesar, named after the lifetimes they had led in Rome. These four men have come to awaken her, to help her remember her past lives, and the part they will play now.

Mira must come into her next power to stop forces, who will do anything to stop her. The old woman comes to her, again, and teaches her the magic of shape-shifting. She is part of an ancient clan of shape-shifters, the Jaguar People. Magic presses in on her everywhere. She must fight old fears, taught to her by the church, and remember knowledge of things she does not want to remember, things that will bring back an evil sorcerer, who has destroyed her before. Forces of chaos press in on her. Behind every corner hides another attempt on her life, and she does not know what power lies waiting to destroy her, in this lifetime, too, if she should fail, yet again. Not everything is as it seems.

Gravity by Abigail Boyd
Posted on July 12, 2011 by admin

One summer night in the town of Hell, Ariel Donovan’s best friend goes missing. Everyone else believes Jenna ran away, but Ariel thinks something more sinister may have happened. She dreams of Jenna running to the abandoned orphanage in town, and then the building catching on fire. What does the orphanage have to do with Jenna’s disappearance?

To complicate matters, a handsome new boy named Henry Rhodes has arrived in town, plaguing her with unwarranted attention. Even though she tries to stay away, she’s drawn to him despite her best efforts, and can’t help giving in to her attraction to him. Though he doesn’t believe in the supernatural events that Ariel begins to witness, she enlists his help to figure out what is going on.

But when she discovers the truth, it’s much worse than she ever feared.

Excerpt:

Unseen dangers threatened me in the dark of the woods. Sharp sticks scratched my bare arms below my t-shirt sleeves. Branches whipped my cheeks, snagging in my long hair. It was as if they were trying to stop me.

Jenna stood out as a bright spot, flickering in the trees ahead. I felt like if I lost sight of her for a moment, she would be gone forever. I was in the middle of my only chance. That thought kept me going, even as every breath burned, and my legs felt like they would give out. The sound of my lungs expanding and contracting took over the tattoo my feet were beating on the ground.

The only two people in the world at that moment were Jenna and I. She knew her destination, I could tell, as I crashed through the foliage that slowed me down. But whether she wanted me to follow her, or whether she was trying to get away, I didn’t know. I wanted to shout again, but I knew the effort would be futile…

A refreshing change from cookie-cutter young adult novels.,July 4, 2011

This review is from: Gravity, a young adult paranormal romance (The Gravity Series) (Kindle Edition)
Fifteen year old Ariel Donovan’s best friend, Jenna, has disappeared. Confused, concerned, and feeling horribly abandoned, Ariel’s summer vacation has stretched in a miserable period of isolation and depression. No one, including Ariel, knows what happened to Jenna — she had stormed out of Ariel’s bedroom one night, never to return. Ariel’s parents are increasingly overprotective, fearing that Ariel may be snatched up, too, and Ariel feels as though the entire town holds her responsible for Jenna’s disappearance. Distraught by the absence of her friend and her loss of autonomy, Ariel views her approaching sophomore year with dread.

As the school year begins, Ariel is vulnerable — friendless and at the bottom of the hierarchy. The children of the wealthy elite run the school, relentlessly bullying any who get in their way. Even the school principle shows favoritism towards the popular, especially the beautiful Lainey, the reigning “Mean Girls” queen of their high school. Ariel is shunned by her entire class, even the girls in her old clique, and is now defenseless against Lainey without her former defender, Jenna. When Lainey claims handsome new student Henry as her own, Ariel becomes an even bigger target of Lainey’s as Henry begins showing interest in both girls.

While the story is initially slow-paced, Boyd uses that time to naturally develop her characters and storyline. She shows excellent characterization: Ariel is genuine and very self-aware, painfully self-conscious of her low station in the school ranks. Her romance with friendly, mysterious Henry comes off as natural and not forced, unlike most young-adult novels (so refreshing!). The other characters of the school are realistic, even while remaining stereotypical: jokester Alex can be tolerable when he lets down his guard, beautiful Lainey will stop at nothing to get her way and Ariel honestly does not want to get in Lainey’s way.

“Gravity” quickly begins gripping and addicting. It is a fascinating mystery story, albeit very complicated. This book finished on a high note, and I am left anxious for the second installment. Hopefully the second book will wrap up all of the unanswered questions left by the first. I definitely recommend!!

Loved Angel, Hamilton is a sexy, inventive writer who will make you steam your kindle screen. I do admit, I’m a bigger fan of the bad boy fallen angel than sexy Daniel, but that’s just me.
You will enjoy the flight with this Angel!

This review is from: Broken: A Paranormal Romance (Kindle Edition)
I was very cautious going in to this book ….. paranormal romance has some great names in it. But I was very surprised that it was one of the best books I have read this year. The fey in the book are very true to all the stories I have heard about them. I loved the flow if the book. I find it hard to keep my interest in most books but this one did it without me realizing it was going on. And for that alone I highly recommend this book.
There are a lot of books in this genre that leave you feeling like there was no conclusion — unaswered questions if you will —- I think that is why so many are long series. It was really nice to read something that could be a stand alone book. I am hoping to see these characters again but even if I don’t at least I know how it ended. And that made me love it. Everyone needs to read this —- just the twists in it were awesome —- I didn’t see most of them coming. The flow was great. I never wanted to stop reading and I was left wanting more.

Gabriela Swanson wanted one thing, to be a well known writer at Graven, the most prestigious Goth magazine in the country. When an inside source gives her the opportunity of a lifetime, she finds herself in a hostage situation with a man who claims to be her soul mate.

Kane Barringer is a vampire who’s lived for centuries. Every century is spent waiting for his soul mate, but this time he’s vowed to live the rest of his existence without her. A strange twist of fate gives them the opportunity to be together forever, but will Gabriela embrace it?

Kelly Yeakle is a talented author. I have to admit that vampires are not my style- but Kelly made it a fun sexy experience!!

Prize Breakdown:
 Bloodletter by Angel Haze (Thriller)

Thou shalt not kill.

A contradictory message written in blood at the scene of a young woman’s murder. Within days, another body surfaces with a similar calling card and, to Detective Ramon Faust and Criminalist Kelly Garret, it’s clear a deadly game is underfoot.

As the rash of horrific crimes continue, a phone call unearths a shocking revelation: Nakeita isn’t the first city the elusive killer has left his mark. The Bloodletter, as dubbed by the media, has played his deadly game before.

Delving deep into the most terrifying case of Kelly’s career, threatening phone calls and flashbacks of a forgotten near-death experience challenge her sanity and the lives of everyone she loves.

Legacies of Talimura: War of the Witch by Angel Haze (YA Fantasy)

Debonair, a witch from the Unspoken-of Lands, has meddled in the forbidden practice of magic and created an army of nightmarish proportions. When sixteen-year-old Astanyx and his two best friends return from a hunting trip to find their small town of Polca reduced to smoke and ash, they find themselves thrust into a battle for which they haven’t been trained.

With the help of his comrades, including an esteemed warrior, one of the last great wizards and a princess they’ve sworn to protect, Astanyx must fight to unite the kingdoms of the humans, dwarves and elves. He must ask forbidden questions that no one wants to answer, questions about Talimura’s dark history. As Debonair’s brutal warriors lay siege to the kingdoms, Astanyx is driven to pursue a fateful quest for a blade powerful enough to defeat the malevolent witch before she destroys the three kingdoms and unleashes an unspeakable ancient evil.

 3:16 by Jeffrey Martin (Thriller)

For most people, an experience with social networking helps them connect with new acquaintances and bridge the gap between long-lost friends. But one man has adopted its resources to fulfill a more sinister agenda. Brandon Thornley uses the database to search for potential victims as he feeds his thirst for blood. What Brandon doesn’t realize is that someone has accepted his request…and this person is even more ruthless than him. New Haven Police Detective Patrick Morgan is assigned to investigate a string of ritualistic murders, which leads him to discover that the killer has left behind something valuable. Armed with the evidence he needs to bring a madman to justice, Detective Morgan sets his sights on his target. Unfortunately for him, he’s not the only one, and his competition will do anything to ensure he fails.

The Emperor’s Edge by Lindsay Buroker(High Fantasy Mystery)

Imperial law enforcer Amaranthe Lokdon is good at her job: she can deter thieves and pacify thugs, if not with a blade, then by toppling an eight-foot pile of coffee canisters onto their heads. But when ravaged bodies show up on the waterfront, an arson covers up human sacrifices, and a powerful business coalition plots to kill the emperor, she feels a tad overwhelmed.

Worse, Sicarius, the empire’s most notorious assassin, is in town. He’s tied in with the chaos somehow, but Amaranthe would be a fool to cross his path. Unfortunately, her superiors order her to hunt him down. Either they have an unprecedented belief in her skills… or someone wants her dead.

Shadow Cat by Reena Jacobs (Paranormal Romance)

Eric Randall’s plan is simple—fix the mess his researchers have created in Malaysia, experience the pleasures the country has to offer, and return to the comforts of America. All it takes is one beautiful aborigine, and Eric finds himself stranded in a world of Malaysian myths and legends.

A novice shaman amongst her people, Berani is free and independent. Yet all is not well in her homeland. Demons prey on her people, pushing them to extinction. When a strange speaking man invades her forest, she has one more worry to add to her already troubled life. Attraction or no, she will fight Eric tooth and claw to maintain her freedom. But will she destroy herself in the process?

If Berani wishes to save her family… if Eric wishes to reclaim his old life, they must stand together against the threats of encroaching wehr-tigers and bloodsucking demons… or perish.

The Childe by C.A. Kunz (YA Paranormal Fantasy)

Cat Colvin is pretty much your typical run-of-the-mill teenager growing up in the small port town of Astoria. Sure, she is taller than average, has a mane of fiery red hair that is impossible to tame, is left handed, and has one eye that is sky blue and one that is amber, but that is where the differences end . . . unless you include the “minor” detail of her slow metamorphosis into the Childe.

We all know how difficult high school can be, and for Cat Colvin it is no different. Except for the fact she has the daunting task of trying to hide her budding Childe traits as they begin to reveal themselves at the most inopportune times.

This first book in this coming of age fantasy series, follows Cat’s life through the twists and turns toward finding out what and who she really is. Come and take the plunge with Cat into a world filled with biting humor, darkness, and yes, a few life lessons as well.

Early Reviews

“…a terrific novel, filled with details that make it impossible not to immerse yourself in the period. This author creates imagery so un-forcefully, it flows very gracefully. The plot was easy to follow, filled with wonderful surprises and amazing detail.” SarahTronson –LibraryThing
“Characters defying convention, a heroine with a strong will, beauty and grace. A rake learning devotion and how to love. This was my first book by this author and since then I have purchase every book that she has written.” Viv Ng –iBooks USA
“… reads like an historical adventure romance of the Scarlet Pimpernel variety and era… the author brings to life the Court of Versailles with its gilded hallways and twittering powdered courtiers. A well-written page turner!” Pepper –Goodreads
“This romance deserves to be read more than once! There is so much to enjoy and savor –the glittering court of Louis XV’s Versailles, the complexity in the characters both good and evil, the wonderful dialogue, the high adventure and of course the deeply poignant romance between Roxton and Antonia.” Angel1897 –iBooks Australia
About the Author

When not bumping about Georgian London in my sedan chair or exchanging gossip with perfumed and patched courtiers in the gilded drawing rooms of Versailles, I teach history and geography at an exclusive boarding school for young ladies.
I write historical romances and crimances (crime with lashings of romance). They are all set in the 18th Century, spanning 1740 to early 1780′s Georgian England, with occasional crossings to the France of Louis XV.
I pull up the reins at the French Revolution – where I lost a previous life at the guillotine for my unpardonably hedonistic lifestyle as a layabout aristo!

He was magnificent—standing there, waiting for her to reach his side. And soon after she did, their lives became irrevocably woven together. Mandy likened it to a silvery, invisible thread, joining their hearts. And she knew the Grandmothers smiled.

She felt rebellious, right now, with their sure vision of her path. A path with the Hawk . . . their lives entwined. Her heart pounded—fanciful thoughts. This book was wonderful and haunts you because of the love, role of family and the spirituality associated with the symbol

This is a good historical western romance that ends up with not one but two romances with two more burgeoning romances. It also features a brutal massacre, a man with no face who stays in the shadows, betrayal, Indians, land grabbing cold murdering cattle barons, cattle rustling and a couple of subplots.

Mandy, the female lead, is a strong willed young lady whose father has been murdered leaving her a ranch that McCandle wants. She is able to talk telepathically with the Grandmothers and she sees visions. The Grandmothers tell her she is to marry Hawk but she doesn't want to nor is the alternative acceptable. It is not Hawk she objects to but marriage itself. She's dreamed of him for years and loved him for as long. She knows they've been together in other lifetimes she and is actually drawn to Hawk. He awakens feelings in her she didn't know existed. With just one smoldering look, he set her blood on fire.

Six year old Jordy McClain, raised by the Cheyenne, becomes Hawk (the male lead) - the "White Indian", when going to live with the Lakota after seeing his birth father murder his friends and their families. Hawk is a bit on the gifted side. He fights his attraction to Mandy even though he knows they are destined to be together. He feels his soul is already lost, he can't drag her down too. And when she learns his secret, he's sure she won't want him.

Hawk and Mandy are perfect for each other - both strong willed, stubborn and willing to do what needs to be done to get what they want - revenge.

The story has a slow beginning but like a snowball rolling downhill, or an avalanche, it gathers speed and mass. The first quarter of the book is told solely from Mandy's point of view. Then the story starts to get better when we get Hawk's point of view as well.

From the publisher's description I was expecting it to be more paranormal. A little mystical is a better description. Stick with the Goodreads description - it is more accurate.

Dark Warrior: To Tame a Wild Hawk is a historical romance with paranormal elements that drew me in from the very first sentence. I'm into paranormal romance bit time, usually because I love to read about paranormal creatures, but here it was the beautiful writing and voice that grabbed me from the start and didn't let me go until the very end.

It's 1871. Mandy has been fighting off Ashley's advances for years. She's neither interested in him as a husband, nor in the possibility of losing her land and ranch to the one evil person that seems to intimidate everyone in the village. Her heart has been filled with love for Hawk with whom she shares a deep spiritual connection, one that keeps calling to her, sending her visions. And while they're destined to be together and they both know it, Hawk's been hiding a secret for years, and this secret could cost them both everything they have --- even the love they share.

I thought Dark Warrior: To Tame a Wild Hawk was a beautiful romance with excellent writing and a loveable heroine. Mandy's as feisty as she is beautiful, and she won't let a man walk all over her. I also liked Hawk, who's sexy and brooding and who comes with a dark past that just won't let him get on with his life. The atmosphere was a foreboding one; one moment there's hope that everything will turn out as it should, and the next the reader can sense something's about to take place, but just won't be able to point out what it is.
This was a fast, action packed read with well-developed characters. While the plot was one of twists and turns, it was the characters and beautiful writing that kept me glued to the page. I know this is one book I'll read again!

My Review:
This was a powerful story and I really enjoyed it. Set in 1871, in Wyoming, this is the story of Mandy, who is fighting to save her ranch from the local bad-guy, McCandle, who wants her ranch and plans to marry her to get it. For years, Mandy has had visions of the man that she will marry and it is not McCandle, it is Hawk.

Hawk is a white man with way too much tragedy in his life. At the age of 6, he was forced to abandon his new-born sister and saw his wagon train murdered by his father. Playing dead in the high grass, he was found and adopted by a Cherokee warrior. At the age of 10, his Cherokee family died and he was adopted by the Lakota. Now he is in Wyoming as a gunslinger with his own ideas for McCandle.

Both Hawk and Mandy have spent a lot of time with the Indians and understand the mystical qualities of the visions that they have both had about each other. But that doesn't stop them from questioning the wisdom of their joining, although with circumstances the way that they are, and with their explosive chemistry, there really isn't any other way for them to go.

I loved this story...quite honestly, much more than I expected to (you did notice yesterday what I said about historicals, right?) From the very beginning of the book, I was hooked and read it pretty much in one sitting (and it's a full-length book.) There is a lot of action and a LOT going on in this book. Hawk is a tough, strong guy, but he is hiding a HUGE secret. He has withstood a lot in his life, but now he is all about protecting Mandy and saving her ranch. To help facilitate that, he brings in Jake and Kid...also, gorgeous tough guys (you can't have too many of those in a book, you know?) But you know, Mandy is pretty tough too. She has been running the ranch by herself for 3 years and doesn't like Hawk pushing her around. There are some great scenes with them as they have a battle of wills. The chemistry between the two of them is wonderfully written.

This is a wonderful western full of the mystical, magical Indian lore. It features a great romance (actually a few of them as you see some of the side characters fall in love too) and great cowboy action. There were a few minor issues with the book...the first half has some disjointed scenes that were a little distracting, but the quality of the story line (for me anyway) just made these a minor annoyance. The author also lists this as paranormal. I am not sure I would agree with that although seeing the bits about the next book in the series, I think that I can see where it's going to a more paranormal slant as a series. This particular book, though, I would simply consider historical with some heavy mystical qualities. ;o)

I definitely would recommend this book especially if you are a fan of western romance. It was emotional, beautiful, and even suspenseful. A fabulous read!
